Beyond the web site, I love sharing what I learn, and learning more, through working with folks around the world.
For example, it is a pleasure to present illustrated talks and lead discussions about hut systems around the world, how they operate, and how they are rooted in the terrain and culture of the places they exist. I believe hut systems are successful to the extent they reflect and grow out of an authentic sense of the place through which they travel and in which they offer immersion experiences.
After a career in libraries, including lots of consulting with academic libraries in change management, I am focused on learning about huts. In this context I use some of my career skills, including doing occasional consulting on management and program planning, strategic planning, and organizational development with folks who are planning and operating hut systems.
Let me know if you would like to discuss how to benefit from the knowledge I am gaining about huts. I’m happy to brainstorm about how to share what I know and to learn more!
My consulting rates currently range from free (pro bono) to inexepensive. Essentially I do this as a labor of love, and my prized reward is to learn from and engage with people keen on huts and their evolving roles in education, conservation, stewardship and recreation.
